Collages are intuitive and poetic, shaped from pieces of the artist's own torn up artwork, recycled with bits of fabric, papers, paint, whatever it takes to make a harmonious and dynamic whole. The artist collects bits and pieces: shells, feathers, butterfly wings, fortunes from teabags, images from museum brochures, etc. She moves them around until they all speak to each other. Mostly narrative and figurative, they draw the viewer into their own story. The Chakra series refers to the 7 different energy centers within the body, each being associated with a color: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. We are living rainbows!
