About me: I am an imagist at heart, a narrative colorist who is influenced and inspired by all of the great art I have seen. Images of the sacred and personal symbolism infuse my work. Art has been a meditative journey for me, a healing path, psychological mirror, and place of delight. I began creating art as a young child, spent most of my high school days in the art room of New Trier West just north of Chicago, went to Bard College in Annandale NY for two years before transferring to Kansas City Art Institute for one year, and getting a BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. I earned an MS in Museum Leadership from Bank Street College in New York City, and have made art continually while teaching it in public and private schools, and creating and directing museum education programs in Chicago, New York, and Nashville, where I have resided since 1990. My artwork has been exhibited widely, including solo exhibitions at the Nashville Airport, The Parthenon in Nashville, and many other venues. My art is in private collections in New York, California, and Nashville. I have published three books of my art and poetry, which are available on Amazon and from Sheriar Books in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. They are titled Listening to the Bones, Art of the Divine, and The Diver and the Pearl. The first two books are also available directly from me for $25 each.
All of my art works are unique originals, and everything you see on this website is for sale! Please inquire about prices of artworks that speak to you. I also accept commissions for portraits of people and pets.
